Frequently asked questions.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out of network, cash-based practice; therefore, I do not accept insurances. I believe insurance is very important to have, but it does not always allow for the proper care a person needs to continue to pursue their goals and live to their full potential. However, you may be able to submit your visits with me and I can provide you with the necessary documentation to possibly get reimbursed by your insurance provider.

Can I pay by credit, debit or flex spending/HSA cards, or with venmo?

Yes!

What do you need from me before my first visit?

There are various new patient forms you will need to fill out prior to my first visit. They are necessary for me to understand your history and help you in the best way that I can. They are short and only necessary before the first visit.

What can I expect in a visit?

Typically, I’ll show up at your front door and then you bring me to the area of your home where you would like to be treated. I will then go to my car and grab my table. Because it is a bit bulky, I like to make sure that we find the best place to put it and want to be able to safely bring it through your house. After, I get that set up, I will ask you a few questions and then we can proceed with treatment!

How much space do you need?

My table measures out to be 72 inches by 26 inches, but I will also need about 24 inches of additional floor space on each side to walk around my table. If I am seeing groups of 5 or 6, I may want to use my second table, which measures out to be 33 inches by 22 inches. This way I can proceed with additional therapies, and do a few adjustments in the meantime. But we can always use a different room for that.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely!! My packages encourage you to bring friends or family members. If they are new to Momentum, they will just need to fill out the necessary intake forms and we can schedule them directly after your appointment (if time allows).

Is chiropractic care safe for everyone?

Like every aspect of health care, there may be some risks. To be sure I am ruling in or out these risks, I perform a thorough examination on every patient I see prior to an adjustment, to ensure everyone’s safety. If I feel there is some area that I should not be treating, I may refer you for imaging or a second opinion.

What to expect after a chiropractic adjustment?

Many patients experience relief; however, some may feel sore or pain. This soreness and pain come from the imbalances your body was already feeling prior to the adjustment. When this imbalance is corrected, your surrounding soft tissue may react with some soreness or tightness, sometimes considered pain. All of these responses are completely normal and temporary. If any soreness or pain does not go away after a few days, then we can consider a different treatment or technique or consider additional care elsewhere! Ice or heat may be recommended to help manage this soreness or pain.

What are the various soft tissue therapies you offer?

I offer instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (FAKTR) which is a scraping technique with a tool that helps to reduce myofascial adhesions and scar tissue. I also provide cupping therapy which uses a suction technique to pull more blood into the area. This helps to clean out the area of toxins and improve blood and lymph circulation. It also helps to improve overall muscular and joint mobility. I also provide hands-on techniques for soft tissue repair, like stretching, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, etc.
